What If “One More Time” Was All You Needed To Reach The Next Level? With Kelsey Tuttle

There is a famous saying, you either you run the day or the day runs you. Our most recent guest Kelsey Tuttle on The Red Bra Project YouTube Channel, episode 34, has demonstrated how to live each day to its fullest potential. She is a mom to three kiddos ages five and younger, volunteers making phone calls at her church, is the room parent for her oldest child for their school, supports her husband’s private business back office and spearheaded her own blog and social media platforms. She has taken on multi-tasking in a very remarkable way and shows us when you want something you find a method not an excuse.

Having over 11,000 followers on Instagram is impressive in and of itself, but add in that she just re-launched her blog in the last six months of this year takes on new levels of grandeur! And when we say re-launch we essentially mean started from square one. Kelsey originally had a blog that she tried out before the one she is currently focused on and in her words…it failed. She wasn’t gaining readers, followers, likes, or comments. She accepted that it wasn’t working and let it go, but did not let go of the passion to still be a blogger.

She shared with us that she loves to write. Whether it’s grammatically correct or perfectly put together is not her concern, but her content and message and helping others is what is really important to her. So in what little spare time she had, she dedicated her focus to figuring out what would make a blog successful. She admits that one of the key things she had to do to have an effective second launch was to invest in herself so others would want to invest in her. And yes she means having her own self-confidence, but in literal terms, she had to spend money to be able to have a quality product and successful launch.

Kelsey recognizes where she went wrong with the first blog and a large part of that she shares, was using all the free products (domain, platform, template, etc.). She emphasized that you get what you pay for and what you put into it. She never looked at her lack of success the first time around as a stopping point, but the exact opposite as a place to begin again. Once she financially committed to investing in the site she said, ok we are doing this and there was no turning back.

Kelsey's Personal Blog Story Journey, Here

Through Kelsey’s research she kept finding that having a brand or a niche was extremely important, but that ultimately became a struggle. Kelsey shares her mind operates in a way where she wants to talk about anything and everything. So rather than have one focus she grouped herself into the lifestyle category where she can talk about fashion, decorating, parenting, etc. She was determined that her blog was going to be about her and our life and her multi-passions. In the end she believed if she found an audience they would want to know all of those things about her and it was her choice to share all the things!

Kelsey's Gorgeous Christmas Tree - Where It All Started!

And then there was a certain  Christmas tree that changed everything!  One creative Christmas tree decorating moment took off like wild fire and Kelsey knew what her first blog post would have to be. She had so many people writing to see how she did it, could she teach them, and the rest is history. Her desire for multi-passion topics started with one holiday and quickly went into whatever other topic came to mind and the rest is a successful launch. However, it doesn’t stop there, blogging and influencing is a constant daily interaction with your audience.

One thing that instantly won us over with Kelsey was her authenticity. She has a very large following now on Instagram and with her blog and she doesn’t let that new found success go to her head. She is clearly still very grounded in her home responsibilities with family other activities she has going on, but she shared with us she responds to every comment and every direct message she receives because she was that person looking to start and conducting her own research not that long ago.

Kelsey does all of her work from home and she loves that her kids see her dedication. She is trying to show them because she doesn’t have a college degree, that she can still be very successful. She still wants them to aspire to go to college, but she wants them to see that dreams come from hard work and dedication.

As with all of our guest, in her final moments with us Kelsey shared what she believes to be her Red Bra Moment. Without hesitation she stated her moment has been her blog and influencing. It so easy to think you are not making a bit of difference with this but at least 4 times a day someone messages her asking how they can do what I am doing. And because I have failed and restarted I feel like I have the capability and knowledge to really help them succeed if they want it.

If you have been wanting to break into the social media world of blogging or being an influencer, but didn’t have the chance to watch the episode, as always we have the re-play ready for your over on our Red Bra YouTube channel. Kelsey is so motivational and encouraging with her positive reinforcement that failing doesn’t mean it’s over just that you have to try a new technique the next time around.
